Blugwitz was told he was the Avatar when he turned 16 years old. The son of a merchant and librarian, Blugwitz was very surprised to discover his true identity. But he immediately went to work mastering all the elements, first with Earth, then Air, and then Water. Upon his return to his home village, Twi-lah, he was saddened to find his people in conflict over the union of Benders, Non-Benders and other Nations. The son of a Fire-Bending mother and Non-Bending father, Blugwitz decided to take it upon himself to advocate for such unions. He also realized that the devision of people would cause even greater unrest and knew that his people would be better served if the accepted each other and worked together to create harmony in their land. He began to gather followers and political activists to stand against the agenda of the political activist Pure Ones, who asserted the superior nature of Fire Benders as direct descendants of the original Fire Benders given power by the Dragons.
Blugwitz started a social media profile to keep his followers up to date, published a website to raise awareness and offer information, and collaborated with his colleagues using a mapping app to keep track of their ideas and solutions. Finally, he presented his findings at the International Pacifist Conference in Ba Sing Se using a PowerPoint slideshow.
